Competence and expertise. The Unversity development center and university incubator of Primorska – UIP (Slovenia) main mission is to link academic sphere with the business environment in order to extend the entrepreneurship culture among young people, students, professors and researchers and the rest of the Primorska region population. The incubator offers an environment that guarantees favourable conditions for identification of potential business ideas (pre-incubation) and the start up of a new company (incubation), in most emerging sectors . Activities are implemented also on a cross-border level, specially in Croatian Istria and Italian Friuli Venezia Giulia region. UIP is competent especially in enterpreneurship, supporting environment, innovation, start up and spin off companies, SMEs development, event management and EU project management.

 Availability of technical and human resources. The UIP is the owner of own business premises in Koper – Slovenia covering app. 500 m2 including 8  business offices for incubates and common venues to support their activities. It employs 2 full time staff and more than 20 business cunsultants to suuport our activities. New innovative supporting tools for enterprises have been developed through participation in EU co-financed projects especially MED Programme, IPA Adriatic Programme and Funds for territorial cooperation Slovenia – Italy and Slovenia – Croatia. UIP offers concrete supportive environment to young SMEs - incubates by providing complete Infrastructure (business premises, equipment and secretary services), Consulting and Education (training, tutoring, promotion, investors), Networking (organisation of events for networking, socializing and experience exchange), Business Environment (engagement of venture capital funds, business plan competition), Technology transfer Office and common Promotion.
